CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY:
Included in this planning has been the identification and review of five different home construction technologies that allow for cheaper, faster and better systems of house construction as well as a wide range of housing designs resulting in an end-product of the highest quality. These technologies include:
- Technology #1: Is a contractor of metal molds that are requested by design for size, description and style. These molds hold concrete that is poured into a standing structure once erected. Each set of forms can be used over 5,000 times before being replaced. After a concrete pad has been cured for a house, roughly a day's time, the period to set up the form is estimated to be less than 24 hours. These homes meet or exceed ICC construction codes internationally for R factor and wind strength. This technology has been used all over the world and is responsible for the construction of thousands of houses.
- Technology #2: Consists of a 'pressed board over foam' SIP panel. These houses are inexpensive, sturdy and well insulated with strong R factors that can be managed through variance of the foam density. The manufacturer has offered to construct a factory for their panels in Brazil.
- Technology #3: Is one that employs a 'metal over foam' SIP panel. The concept is currently being used to build a 5,000 home community in Africa. The manufacturer does a great deal of contracting with the US government. Their panels are strong but relatively expensive. They would consider building a factory for panels in Brazil.
- Technology #4: This technology uses a 'concrete over foam' SIP. This construction methodology has several international initiatives, including the North of Brazil (Amazon region). SAH's business model should help this manufacturer in Brazil because it would allow the company to avoid key obstacles such as: reliance on local political influence to get land and permits, requirements to get the state bank to certify the technology (certification is not required by local private banks) and the absence of any sincere partnership with a Brazilian organization.
- Technology #5: Is a large manufacturer that builds SIP's using foam over concrete. They are well established in North America and have a desire to build in South America. This Company could be a strong financial partner in the future.
COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY:
SAH has business relationships with two technologies for improving the environment of the community.
- Technology A: This Company has a leading technology for battery operated light bulbs for LED lighting that provides six bulbs that are rechargeable by solar panels for a cost of $300 per house.
- Technology B: provides water and waste treatment facilities for the US military on all foreign deployments. Their systems will work directly in our community designs. It also provides all the potable water purification equipment for the deployed US military. They are capable of treating any water issue up to considerable volumes at very reasonable costs.
